JOB TITLE: Registered Professional Nurse
SUMMARY: The nurse coordinates and monitors medical services, including psychiatric and medication services, in accord with the requirements of regulatory agencies and in response to individual clients’ needs.
Demonstrates the ability to assess the full scope of patient needs, using the nursing process on a continuous basis.
Cooperates with distribution of resources to maintain a therapeutic environment.
Demonstrates a skill in interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and co-workers.
Demonstrates effective oral and written communications methods using lines of authority appropriately.
Demonstrates accountability for nursing practice through planned & continuous professional growth and development.
Demonstrates commitment to Health Care organization by taking responsibility for job function.
Demonstrates knowledge and judgment needed to meet the nursing needs of the patient.
Demonstrates a leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching and research.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing. Two years of experience working as a registered nurse including some medical/surgical experience and awareness of the needs the patients
